Women In Construction

The first week of March celebrates Women in Construction each year. The 2023 theme, ‘Many Paths, One Mission’, celebrates the different journeys women have taken toward the same goal: strengthening and amplifying the success of women in the construction industry.

In a profession that typically evokes images of hard hats and back-breaking manual labor, we decided to focus the spotlight in our March blog post on women working in the field of construction. Approximately 10.3% of construction jobs in the U.S. are held by women, wielding hammers and levels, and in the field. Women are also working in other critical areas of the field, in roles that include; architecture, design, engineering, financing, and project planning.

Omega Home Studio’s ongoing success is grounded in teamwork. The sum of the parts; is a fine-tuned collaboration between those working in the field, building the dreams of our clients, and those working in the office; bringing those same dreams from an initial conversation, to paper, to reality.

Celebrating Omega Home Studio Women in Construction

Melissa – Construction Sales Lead
  • Often our client’s first contact is with our Construction Sales Lead, part of her job is to earnestly listen to a potential client’s vision and then convey that back to our team of experts. Determining the project scope of work requires a strong sense of clarity based on concise communication.

  • Our clients are fortunate to have the design services of one of our four full-time, in-house designers. Equipped with years of experience, they will facilitate the many decisions required to move your project from design to done in numerous ways. Creating drawings that allow you to view your projects post construction.

Linda – Project Assistant
  • During the life of every project, our project assistant walks alongside the carpenters and the designers to help ensure small details are not missed and large details are bolstered. This includes product and equipment ordering, follow-up, and logistics, each one required to keep your project on track.

Our very own women in construction may not wear hard hats: their tools include a tape measure, a cellphone, and a laptop, loaded with the latest construction software programs available in the industry (Buildertrend, 2020, Chief Architect and more) providing the very best in project management, space planning and visuals to help our clients “see” their finished project.
